BJ8 Tire Size Recommendations

I just purchased new Dayton Wire Wheels for my '67 BJ8. I've been running on 165/15 tires. Would a larger tire 185/15 or 175/15 give me a better ride? Would they fit?

Charley:

It really is a personal preference between the tires. I like the ride and looks of the 165 better and have had them on all my big healeys for 25 years. Now running on Vredesten, while in the past Michelins.

A friend of mine had 185's on his big Healey and they touched the front fender lip once in awhile.

Thanks for your input. I assume you've had no problems with wheel well 'clearance'.

Michelin! $$$! Since my full name is Cheap Charley, a local dealer can get 175/15 BF Goodrich for approx $60 per tire. Did you do any comparisons?

Thanks Again...
