BJ8 Servo/ brake booster test

I’m not convinced that my servo ( I think you guys call it a brake booster?) is working.

Any ideas how I may be able to test the operation?

It was professionally restored about two years back, so I would hope it’s in reasonable order.

I believe one way of testing is to start the engine with your foot on the brake pedal, and it should move slightly. I’ve tried this but can’t feel much happening.

Is there anything else I can try to establish if the unit is functioning?

thanks

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the servo. Put a plug in it so you don't have a vacuum leak. Take it for a spin and see how well the brakes work. FWIW, if you have a replacement version, it's operation is less noticeable than the original.
