BJ8 Seats

I have just acquired a '67 BJ8 and am wondering if I've been "short seated"...I'll admit that my glut is larger than when I was 21, however I've sat on bar stools that seem to have more square inches. Can someone tell me what are the deminsions of the front seats...Width and length at the widest/longest points?

PLease, no fat a$$ jokes.
:nonono:

Hi Larry,
I'll try to get some measurements tomorrow. In the mean time, maybe looks in the Member's Gallery to get a relative size comparison. Here's a start click me

Greg,
I think that when the seats in my car were redone, whoever did the job didn't have a clue. The seat backs are ok, however, the seat base appears to be about an inch and one half narrow and maybe 2 inches short. The front edge of the seat does not taper forward and up but rolls up and back. The measurements of the seat and the base board would be helpful.
Thanks

Larry,
You can come over to my house and compare what you have with my seat cushions which are original.

Hi Larry,
Disclaimer: My seat has been sitting on a shelf in the rear seat for about 2 years. When I pulled it out, the foam was a little deformed.

The base measurements (at the middle both ways) is 16 3/8" wide by 15 1/2" front-to-back.

The topside of the seat is 17 1/2" wide from the piping (closer to the front) by 20 1/2" front-to-back.

Height is 7 1/2" in front, 3" in back.

The overall width of the seat is a little more than 17 1/2" since the sides below the piping bulge out a little.

Greg,

Thank you...you have confirmed my <span style="font-style: italic">suspicion</span>. I've been <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">short seated</span></span>.

Patrick, I'll take you up on your offer. Are you going to the tech session next Sat? If so we can measure then if you are bringing your car. If not, let me know you address and I'll swing by.
