BJ8 Seat Cushions

I am looking for the red vinyl seat cover and the foam to build new seat cushions, driver and passenger side. Anybody know of any sources for these items? I just purchased my BJ8 and kinda got "short seated". It feels like I'm sitting on a bar stool that slants forward.

Moss sells 'em. Beware, though. A common complaint about the BJ8 seats is that the seat back slants too far forward, and is not comfortable for the long haul. There are threads here that explore various home brewed solutions for this issue.

Larry, I brought my "original" cushion to the tech session but you didn't show up. I'll be home pretty much all day Friday. Using a vacation day to work on my Healey. Drop me a line and come over.

Patrick: As you may have heard I had to get towed back from the Sunday Road trip...generetor went out. I replaced the generator today and when I tested it the voltage regulator started to smoke. UGH!

Give me a call so we can get together. You have my cell and home number...I don't have yours.

Thanks

Alternators are more fun than generators!!
I still have the original burnt out regulator from when I bought my car 35 years ago plus others than have followed in the same footsteps. I switched to a alternator and not problems since then. I'll give you a shout later.

I've found that the BJ8 generators have a rear bushing and shaft that when worn needs to be specially rebuilt or you will only get 50 or so miles from them. I've had to havemy generator rebuilt three times by different shops in the area until I found one that could do it correctly.

Did you flash your "field" when you put the rebuilt generator on? That could have been why you smoked the regulator.
