BJ8 sagging doors????

My bj8 needs total restoration. Both doors will not currently shut. I realize the car needs new sills and outriggers but, the main frame is solid. I have had other Healeys with bad sills and the doors did not sag. My question is why have these doors dropped 3/4 of an inch on each side? Is there anything else it could be? Thank you for any insight! Jeff

Well maybe just in this case the "A" posts are rotted out at the bottom?.--Keoke

The post do seem to have some rot on the very bottom.Would that may the doors drop that much?Thank you for your reply,Jeff

Yep, because a small change at the "A" post translates to a larger distance deviation at the rear of the doors.---Keoke

I made these up to deal with exactly what you're going through. I can set them on the car without removing the doors (just the furflex) and play with them until I get the alignment and gaps where I want them. Once locked down, they remain in place until I have the sills and rockers replaced. I take them back out to do the floors.

It is conventional wisdom to replace the sills/rockers before taking the car apart, and with it sitting full weight on the wheels/tires

While you're at it, check the door hinges. A small amount of play there can mean a lot at the shut post.
