Hey BJ8 owners,
Know I see posts about trying to find BJ8 glove box locks. Just got a e-mail notice from AH Spares in UK and they now have them for 98.50 pounds, about $150.00 US. No connection with AH Spares, but good supplier and just passing on the news.
Regards,
Mike

Don't forget the VAT (salestax) and postage
Small packages tend to go astray, (as in turnsignal lamp)
So maybe "signed for" is a good option

Does kill the eBay madnes ;-)

That is still far too expensive in my opinion. I will have to do without.

Then again I did try one from a vw beetle and it fit fine.

Reid,
While I haven't tried this, it looks promising.

This place has some nice period radios as well.
I also Googled "Beetle Glove Box Latch" and then Images. Some came up on EBay also. There's also a finger pull that goes behind the push button type.

Thanks Bob, but none of those look even vaguely like the glove box lock for a BJ8. I guess that if someone was desperate to fill a hole in the glove box door you could say that they are better than nothing, but the days settling for wildly incorrect/non-original parts are generally well behind us. Everyone I know who owns one of these cars values it too much to do such a thing as substitute non-original items when originals (or reproductions of originals) are available.
