BJ8 Oil Cooler

Hey gang,

As I continue to finish my Healey, I am trying to decide about adding an oil cooler. I am seeking the forum's thoughts on if this is worth it or not, and if so, I need help in looking for a supplier for a "kit".

I have found the steel or rubber hose kit, but I cannot find the spin-on adapter with the line out/in.

Any thoughts from the wiser ones on the board?

Hi you might find what you are looking for by searching; "Mocal" Oil Coolers.-FwiwKeoke

Also redid the plumbing for the remote filter and oil cooler. The oil cooler itself was sourced from Racer's Parts Wholesale and all the hose and fittings came from Jeg's

Southern Carburettors or AH Spares sells an engine block adapter similar to the one I fabricated, and the rest of the parts are off the shelf, so to speak.

Hi Velo,
Denis Welsh (scroll to bottom of page) sells what you are looking for, though it’s a little pricey. There are a couple of threads on oil coolers that you can find with the search function at the top of this page. I didn’t buy the Moss kit for a couple of reasons that are personal taste. At the time (may still be true) their kit only came with rubber hoses, not Stainless braided. I also thought the cooler was too narrow when viewed from the front, so I bought a 16” wide one that fit nicely between the frame rail. I wound up buying Stainless hose, cut it to length, and put the ends on myself.
