BJ8 Headlamps

1965 BJ8. My driver's side headlamp got pinged by a stone and is now dead. Both lamps are Westinghouse. I want to replace with a new set of lamps/bulbs so that they are not mismatched. Anyone know what was original to the car in 1965?Any recommendations for period correct headlamps? Sources??

Lucas!! and you needed to carry a torch too so you could see the road. Get a modern upgraded set of lamps and put them in--Keoke-- :driving:

Your car may have come to this side of the pond with no headlights and the dealer installed them here, although by '65 they may have started to have the correct ones in the UK.

Yes that is a posibility because the British lamps were designed to dip from the left side of the road while ours dip on the right. T he pattern of the glass on the lamps tell you which one they are. One of my 66 BJ8s came with left hand dip lamps--Fwiw--Keoke

Sorry that it was not more British-exotic but my 64BH8P1 came new from the dealer with standard GE 40-watt sealed beams.

All the best,
Ray
