BJ8 hardtop question....Almost an AH BJ8 owner!!

The BJ8 project that my father is purchasing includes a vinyl textured hardtop. Any idea of the manufacturer or value of this top? I have no pictures or details on the top. I may get a few more details tomorrow when I talk to my father again tomorrow. From what I gather BJ8 or any AH3000 hardtops are in high demand because of their rarity.

My college's spring break is the second week of March. My father and I will be able to transport the rolling shell and gather up all the other parts for the car, which are boxed in the owner's attic. Then comes getting the engine and transmission from a seperate location! We'll need to borrow an engine crane and trailer/pickup.

The car's body and paint (BRG /Ivory) was done 15 years ago according to the owner/friend. Can't wait to post pictures in the next week or two. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Probably a Coachman. Especially if it is a bit rectangularly shaped.

Thanks Hangtown! I did speak with my father today and he said it was rectangular and not wraparound.

When I rebuilt my BJ8 about 6 years ago (or at least started it then), I was able to locate a firm in England that had original molds for the factory hard top (Nykel Engineering). It took some doing to get it into the country (pre-9/11) and assembled onto the car, but it looks great. Cape International in England now also offers BJ8 factory hardtops with shipping to the US, and would probaly now be an easier option.
