BJ8 Grille Oval Surround "silver paint" needed

After chroming my grille surround and eyebrow I decided to paint the oval surround inner area that's next to the grille with paint per the original. I like it better painted than not painted and it also hides the spot welds too. I recall a post as to the type of silver paint used but I can't find it. I'm thinking of going with the metallic wire wheel paint unless someone has a better paint idea??

Thanks,

Patrick, Anderson/Moment Guide describes the grille paint as a "dull flat light gray". Don't think the metallic silver wheel paint would work as it is likely a gloss.

Maybe someone on the List will have a over the counter paint code for the color?
Thanks,

Hi,
I've used Dupli-Color ( DE 1615 ) Aluminum and ( DE 1650 ) Cast Coat Aluminum . They are both engine enamels and about $6. a can. Good color for wire wheels too. Good luck, Bob
