BJ8 - Cigar lighter location

Does anyone know where the 'cigar lighter' would be fitted on a BJ8 when originally ordered as an option?

(don't smoke cigars you understand but need to charge the 'phone !)

On my BJ8 the cigar/cigarette lighter is mounted on the bottom of the front fascia, on the passenger side, snug up against the center radio panel.

HI Andrew, In the limited cases I have seen, the cigar lighter location has followed Jaguar cars and was located in the console adjacent to the ash tray. I personally do not like that location and mine is located in the lower left hand corner of the facia next to the glove box door .I made sure its location here coincided with the location of the windscreen pump on the drivers side. To my knowledge no specific location was specified by the factory since it was primarily a dealer installed option.-FWIW---Keoke

I understand that this was a dealer installed option and that there was no single location in which these were placed. I bought a center fascia panel (the leather cover metal one with switches) and found it had a lighter socket installed in the lower left corner.

I've looked at any number of interior photos and haven't yet seen another one installed for comparison. I asked the Healey list a couple years back and there was no correct position then identified, just the information about dealer installations.

Seems you may put it where you like....
