Today we've had temperatures which for us in the UK are rather hot 31 deg C - now my BJ8 is fitted with the fancy plastic fan and even if moving slowly keeps to an indicated 190 - 195 F on the dial.
BUT we got stuck in the midst of some charity fun run in Blackheath with nose to tail traffic, crawling at less than walking pace. Gauge creeps up to 212 - never mind it's a pressurised sytem - water will boil higher than that thinks I. Eventually the gauge goes practically full scale - 230 F and yet nothing happens. I'm expecting the rad cap to blow and loose water yet we survive. Then the traffic block clears and off we go and the gauge comes back into civilised territory.
But what IS the boil over temperature? IIRC the cap is arround 7psi and assume we're at sea level as we virtually are in London ??
