Hi Guys, need some advice/help to get the frame to fit around the door glass.

This car as undergone a full restoration with a new rear section fitted (new arches new inner wings, etc. ).

When the hood frame was first fitted, the wooden parts of the hood frame were behind the glass edge and it was about 1 1/2 too high; more on the LHS (RHD car).

So it looks to me like the brackets where welded in the wrong place; they wanted to go back and down.

I have cut off the brackets and fitted them to the frame and fitted the frame to the car.

With the frame locked in at the front screen, it still seams too high around the door glass, but the bracket in now touching the wheel arch and will not go down any more. I have attached some pics.

The first 4 images are of the pic N/s . And the second lot of 4 are the O/s measurement are the same using the dividers.

Take a photo of the inside of the door showing movable parts, window mechanism, etc.

Were the brackets welded in as part of a recent restoration, or were they all original before you cut them out? If the later, then I fear something else may be the problem.
