BJ7 Top Installation

Cleaning up all the parts for the installation of a new canvas top on the BJ7. I noticed that the aluminum capping (header rail retainer Moss 806-115) was covered with top material. Is that correct? I didn't do that on the BJ8. I like the look, cleaner. Going to leave the rear window rail off as well to install the BJ8 top. I have the original cream-color vinyl that was on the header rail and wood side frames.

Marv, that's correct. Aluminum header rail is vinyl covered (black). I'm not too sure if the material used here is the same thickness as convertible top, mine was not.

Over the many years I've been collecting the various pieces to recover the convertible top. That would be every piece from spring covers to drain-rail hoses and correct cream color vinyl for the wood and, finally, correct weatherstripping and seals to do a correct job. Good luck and let us know your progress.
