BJ7 Restoration Site

Just curious, the shock bodies on this car are painted black. On my car, apparently only the arms were painted. I'm restoring mine as a driver and it probably dosen't make any difference, but since I am going to send mine off and have them rebuilt, they might as well be correct. Any thoughts?

Hi Richard,

For the BJ7 (and I think all the 3000's) shock bodies were bare aluminum, shock arms black, fasteners, zinc plated. I put a matte clear over the bead blasted aluminum to provide some protection. BTW, World wide is the place to have them rebuilt from what I've heard.

Cheers,
John

Having a BJ7 I came across this site about a year or two ago. If I'm not mistaken this story has a sad ending in that the owner ended up selling it shortly after all the(work was completed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Still have mine!
