I'm looking for an individual left side door top rail,(the padded rail at the top of the door), trim covered or not
. I have managed to find sets but not an individual rail
Robert

robert, i too have a 63 bj7 mk ii, ive seen these on ebay once in a while, let us know how you make out there, if not i might be able to scrounge on up?

Robert,

There are actually two styles of door top rails used on the BJ7. The factory photos show a soft padded shape for the early cars and a sharper edged molded foam shape used on the later cars and the BJ8. I assume the sheet metal for the two types is the same. If you can't find someone to sell you one, it would be a fairly easy part for someone to make who has a sheet metal equipment. If you know someone who bends metal they could make you a mirror image part from the one you have. Anyway, just a thought.

Cheers,
John

Robert,

Sounds like you are going to be placing an order soon! Glad you found your top rail and door panel parts. Seems like the US exchange rate for OZ is much better than for the UK right now.

Cheers,
John

Well, I did place an order but later discovered that due to the foam being cast and quite rigid and the density of the foam available to the trim sjop plus the cost of recovering I would advise purchasing the ones from heritage as the foam is as per original, cast to shape and very dense., so, I have one (left side) bj7 top rail metal that I might be interested in selling.
