If you would, that would be great. Thank you
Here's a layout of where your carpet snaps are located on the floor. If you already have the snap holes you're in good shape. The trans tunnel will also have Snaps, hopefully still in place. I added extra Snaps to make my carpet lay down better and used the original brass rings with the securing ring that has the three ears on it to secure the two Snap pieces together.
Concerning the jute that lays over the floor Snaps: Place it as best as you can with equal space around its perimeter. You'll see "bumps" from the Snaps showing in the jute when you apply a little pressure. Cut a square hole in the jute where the Snaps are and the jute will lay flat. Because the jute is so thick that Heritage supplies you would get a depression when you try to Snap the carpet in place. I made small round pieces out of tempered hardboard to to raise the Snap to take care of the depressions. You can use metal washers too.
When marking where the Snaps go on the carpet, I learned this trick from Carroll Phillips...After the floor Snaps are attached to the floor and the jute is in place take the carpet and apply masking tape to the backside of it in the location of the Snaps that are attached to the floor. Lay the carpet in position and with a rubber mallet, or another tool that soft, lightly tap the area where the floor Snaps are located. After doing that, remove the carpet and turn it over and you should have a round impression where the floor Snap is located. Now you have the locations marked with your carper Snaps go!
The carpet that you left a little long around the floor perimeter will be pretty close to the same height as the jute is and make a smooth flat laying carpet.
