As brake line sets from moss, etc are rather more expensive than auto parts store lines, when replacing brake lines is it necessary to use the original bubble fitted line style or can regular, flared fittings work as well?

Are the regular lines the same size as original lines (so they will fit the connection fittings I have)?

Can anyone suggest a source for new line fittings seperately from the lines?

I just finished putting new brake lines in my BN7 and I used regular brake lines available from NAPA or other suppliers. I purchased a double flaring tool and got a 25' roll of 3/16 brake line and made my own. You can purchase new long male nuts from NAPA but the female nuts you need are unavailable domestically. You either need to clean up and re use the old ones or get new ones from SC parts in England. https://www.scparts.co.uk. It was a rather easy process. There is some debate about the cupro-nickel vs steel you may want to check out. NAPA lines are soft steel and can be bent by hand.
