We have a little, local parade every July 4th. Classic cars, bikes, kids, everyone and everything decorated. Anyone can participate. It goes about 3/4 of a mile along a quiet street, finishing at a park with hot dogs and lemonade for everyone. The kids have a blast, and it's a great opportunity to see neighbors that we don't meet often.
Some very cool cars this time. It seems a little ironic to have British cars in a July 4th parade, but what the heck. There was an absolutely exquisite MG TC, first time I've seen a T-series in the neighborhood, except when I had my own TD, of course. I drove my Porsche 912, as I don't have a working LBC right now, and there were two other early Porsches, a 911T and a 911S. Most exciting was a Mercedes 300SL Gull Wing Coupe, which has been at previous years' parades. This time, it sported a new paint job. I wonder what that job cost--you don't exactly take a $1,000,000+ car to Earl Scheib.
Also a nice early Jaguar. There is also a Mark IX in the neighborhood, but it didn't show up today.
