I just got my British Heritage Cert.
Born on Oct. 7th 1958. Shipped to Los Angles on the 22nd.
Original color Pearl White, with Black leather int. It came with a heater and a tonneau cover. The engine is correct for the car.
But I don't think it was supposed to be in the drivers seat. (if there was a drivers seat)

That is a great looking TR3 - bravo!

Always good to see a record of a car's "birth". Does the certificate also show which ship the car arrived on, and into which port?

Congrats!
Tom
PS - that *is* the spare engine in the seat, right?

Very Nice! I hope that when I get a TR3 mine looks as good as yours!

The TR was shipped over on the "Bolinas" From King George Dock, Hull,
to Cal Sales Inc., Los Angles.
The engine in the seat is supposed to be under the bonnett.

That's nice. IMHO brown just isn't right for a fun car. No offense meant to anyone.

Its not brown it's "Harvest moon beigh"

Tinman,

GOOD LOOKING car, I am in the process of doing an identical car, My interior will be a shade darker tan. Had to show my wife you car picture. I am doing wire wheels but white paint and tan interior. Wasn't sure I would like it but I do after seeing yours.

Thanks

Marv

Dan...absolutely beautiful...move the bike..makes me nervous!

I thought Ian meant the original brown - but I have to admit, I kind of like the 2 tone treatment. Occasionally I think about doing a 2 tone on the 59, but I haven't figured out the combination yet as it will definitely be Silverstone gray for the majority and I've already bought the deep red/maroon trim for it.

I did mean the original brown as an exterior color.

Randy, I also really like 2 tone, especially on the big Healys and C1 Corvettes, but brown would not be my choice of color.

Hi Dan - just wondering - is that cert for your car TS37148? I've ordered mine for 31577. Just wondering how close they will be in build date?

Yes it is TS 37148 L. The first TR3 I owned was TS23351 and the TR that I bought for the donor rear end after TS37148 was totalled was TS23575. Only 224 TR's between them. No big deal, just kinda cool. Some body will chime in with a closer build date.

Dan: That's sweet! And, October 7, 1959 was a Wednesday. I remember. :jester:

Not only was it a wednesday but it also was the day that...

# the Lunik 3 probe took the first pictures of the far side of the moon, 29 images that were later transmitted back to Earth.[14]
# On Baghdad's al-Rashid Street, Iraq's President Abd al-Karim Qasim was ambushed on his way to the East German embassy. The five man team, led by future Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, killed Qasim's driver and wounded Qasim. One assassin died and Saddam himself was injured, but escaped to farm.[15] After the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Saddam fled to the same farm, where he was captured on December 13 of that year.[16]
# A Taiwanese RB-57 surveillance plane, flying at an altitude of 20,000 meters, was downed by three V-750 missiles as it flew near Beijing. It was the first time that a surface-to-air missile (SAM) had brought down an aircraft.[17]
# The U.S. Court of Claims ruled that the Tlingit and Haida Indian tribes had been the original owners of southeast Alaska and entitled to monetary compensation. An award for $7.5 million was made in 1968.[18]
# Born: Simon Cowell, English TV producer and judge (American Idol and Britain's Got Talent), in Brighton, East Sussex; Lourdes Flores, Peruvian presidential candidate, in Lima; Michael Pare, American film actor (The Philadelphia Experiment), in Brooklyn

So much info, so little time. Thanks history is good stuff!!

I used to have TS36131L. It was exactly the same colour and spec as your car. It was also shipped to LA. I don't think I kept a copy of the certificate when I sold the car, but I guess it would have been on the same ship.
