I saw a lotus 7 replica called the "Birkin" in my Hemmings motor news. Anyone know anything about these? Looked pretty cool.

Devin:

It's a replica of a Lotus Super-7 roadster and is imported from South Africa (if my memory is correct). A very similar car is the Caterham-7 - which is actually the for-real new Lotus Super-7 (Caterham bought the Super-7 from Lotus way-back-when).

One of the distributors is in South Florida and has a web page at: https://www.wirewheel.com/Cars/Auto_Generated_Pages/birkin.shtml

I've seen several Birkins from them at the car shows here in Daytona and they're nice. I've seen quite a few Caterhams in the UK also. I've never seen them with the full-weather gear (usually just open bodied, no top), but I understand a top and side curtains are available.
