The Trimotor, I figuring it is a Ford... The Island Airlines operating from Port Clinton Ohio flew a ford Trimotor into the mid 1970s. It was fluing scheduled service to the Lake Erie Islands then used as a sightseeing ride after that. A former student has been doing a lot of work for the outfit that restored the aircraft. Probably not alot of those planes flying these days.
 
I had the pleasure to take a ride on a Tri-Motor at the EAA Airshow in Oshkosh some years ago.
 
Looks like a good time was had by all. I get to see plenty of Air Force trainers and cargo planes, along with Army helos around here, and even the stray B-52 once, but I really need to get out to a good vintage event one of these days.

Great stuff, thanks for posting this. I owned an AT6 for 40+ years and loved the airshow circuit. When AV gas went to $7 per gallon, a lot of the fun went away. I figured on a fuel burn of 50 gallons an hour at airshows, and that just go too expensive for me. We should all be grateful for folks like the one's in this video for keeping these airplanes in the air.

I would, but I don't go east of the Mississippi.
 
Flew into old Reinbeck back in the 70s taking my wife and one of her friends. Sure took us back in time. Back then there was nothing around the airport but trees, old hangars, very old airplanes, and a short grass runway. Would love to go back someday. :thumbsup2:
