Man! I did the clutch in the 91 318si this afternoon (it was really slow at work so I clocked out)
What fun that was! NOT! Took me 4 hours, my arms are all scraped up, and my muscles are on fire.
All I can say is thank goodness I have a set of inverted torx sockets and good metric allen sockets.
It looked simple enough before I started, but that's one tight fit. (especially the upper starter nut and bolt)
I found out I diden't have a worn clutch, I had a badly leaking input seal on the tranny, which had soaked the clutch. What a mess!
Thankfully I though ahead, and when I ordered the clutch I also ordered a new tranny seal, and rear main seal. So I already had it.
Feels much better. I'll really test it tomorrow heading down to the vintage shop for Job 2.
I had to stop off to het my growlers refilled at the Brewing company after that job.
