Going to replace a 100/6 Longbridge motor with a 66 BJ8 engine. Plan to keep the sideshift trans. If I use the the BJ8 flywheel I should use the BJ8 clutch. Is there any issues using with the sideshift trans on the later clutch.

The Spring diaphragm is lighter to operate, but make sure, if you're fitting a new one, to have the flywheel and clutch balanced together. It makes a big difference.

Ive just rebuilt and fitted a BJ8 engine in my BJ7 because it's nice to have the extra power.
 
There's at least two (>2) maybe three (3) different flywheels/pressure plate bolt patterns (9", 10" & 9-1/2"), depending on engine series, so using the pressure plate that matches the flywheel is a plus.

Likewise, three (?) different T/O brngs, but it's been quite a while since I've juggled them around to offer any insight; just pick the one that matches the clutch used__and be absolutely sure that there is a a little free-play in the actuating lever (before touching the contact face) once eng/xmsn are mated together.
