Giving the wife her house back for our aniversary. Both of us have been so busy we haven't had time to keep up with things. I've got about 16 hours in the project now with a long way to go. Just the living room and the kitchen done. At this rate it should take a year to ge the house, shop, pole shed and yard straight. I hope I live that long.

Good for you - it takes a lot of work to do it right, I did it two winters ago, and it was well worth it just to see how happy it made her! When both of you work all the time, it's hard to keep it from getting away from you...

Good, Billy. We let the hovel go and are now in process of "catch-up". Headed for Home Despot shortly to ferret back a length of shower pan liner and mortar for the tile bed...

Does Ben-Gay come in gallon sizes?

Good stuff to get caught up on. Sure does get daunting when you get so far behind on all that stuff.

I usually just dip myself in a vat of it :yesnod:

RCS (rubic's cube syndrome): No place to put the crap you just picked up. Problem is we have too much stuff. Too many things we have don't have a home. Gotta weed the lot out. It's a lot easier for me than Kelly. I have a one years rule. "Did I use it in the last six months-no, will I use it in the next six months- no." That's a year of just sitting there, in the garbage, goodwill ( or ebay) it goes.

Gotta make room for all the crap I'll drag home next year.

My wife's the same way. I learned that if I give her grief about all the crap she hoards she holds on to it twice as hard. So I convinced one of her friends to help her get rid of stuff. Much more effective.

Now with the kids I just get 45 gallon leaf bags and a snow shovel and shovel out their rooms.

I got lucky on this front, as neither my wife or I are really stuff gatherers.

Clearing out the extra stuff sure makes you feel good, though. Best luck to you in diving in and getting it all sorted out.

was reading a thread on the Garage Journal recently posted by a hoarder in Detroit trying to get hold of his life - we aren't hoarders but Oh My! I now want to get rid of everything I own.

Same here. Funny thing is, last week I threw away a bunch of stuff I hadn't used in years that I suddenly need to do casting!

That's what always happens to me when I finally throw something out......I'll need it within a week or two.

Yeah I've got stuff that I have no use for but it is too good to throw away. I started selling some stuff two for one. I sold some three rail transmissions one for $125 or two for $100. Now the stuff in is a friend's garage and i have some money to spend gathering more stuff...
