Best tires for Bugeye Sprite?

After many years and going through every nut and bolt, I am close to finally putting my Bugeye back together. Does anyone have any suggestions as the the type and size of tire?

Hi Kevin,I am sure some of the big Healey people also have the BugEye.However, there is probably a more concentrated and dedicated group on the Spridget Forum.---Keoke
 
Thanks, Keoke. I was confused by the forum definition of a Spriget. Why is the Austin Healey Bugeye Sptie put in a different category if it has the same maker?

Cause mostly the Bugeye, Sprite, Midget parts are interchangeable but for the exteror body work.
 
Definitely come join us in the Spridgets section. But to answer your question, I'm running 155/80R13 on my Bugeye. The original tires were 5.20 x 13S Bias Ply. A closer radial to this would be 145SR x 13. The 155 tires are pretty close to original, and seem to be fairly easy to find.
