TR2/3/3A Best Rustproofing for inside of body.

1956 TR3 What do you all use for treating and preventing rust on inner panels? Inner rockers, behind the rear stiffeners and closing panels, etc I am doing rust repair, so I have good access to the inside and want to stop further rust.

you can always paint with Hamerite, but best thing is to inject waxoil inside sills and caveties after they have been welded,

I use 3M cavity wax. You can get a set of long wands to spray through small openings.

Anything you do will probably be better than what was done at the factory (i.e., nothing). I just sprayed mine (on a TR4A) with weld-through primer before installation, then tilted the top back, before welding it, and sprayed in some paint.

I like the idea of the cavity wax or waxoil, though.

When I did a stripped body restoration on our 72 MGB I used a rattle can spray with a thin tube from Eastwick for spraying all the sealed cavities through a small hole on each end. Sorry, I don't remember which one it was, that was 15 years ago.

I also used the below Eastwood product on the inside of the frame. Thin consistency, dries like paint (if the metal is breached, the coating is not “self fixing”). I might add cavity wax in addition to this.

Fluid Film would probable work as well. You can get the long wands with a tip that does a fan spray. You an get rattle cans at the big box stores.

I used POR 15. Of course my car is black which then matches the POR 15 perfectly. Then on places I couldn't reach I used that Eastwood internal frame coating as mentioned above. The car is going to last longer than me! LOL!
