Best material for panels?

I have one of the special staplers for upholstery-paid for itself many times over. I have noticed quite a variety in the quality of hardboard. Home Depot had a hard board material that was smooth on one side and rough on the other that I really liked, but they seem to no longer carry it. Is this what you are talking about Bobby and Don?
Kevin

I use an air powered stapler by Duo-Fast........... it's an upholstery stapler.

The HD hardboard is smooth on one side and rough on the other and costs about $8 for a 4x8x1/8 sheet. I think the label on it says something like Euroboard.... Won't be home until Friday so I can't check. The Lowe's product, AISTR, was smooth on both sides. But the Lowe's product cracked instead of bending.

If you can find it at HD, have them cut it into 4 pieces 2x4 each. Then I staple two of the pieces together, shiny sides out. I trace the door and wheel arch panels and cut them out as a mirrored pair. The other piece will get you the trunk panel and the kidney pads.... and you'll have a piece left over.
