Quote:]The agency says it is looking for strong communicators who can speak and write in English, and says applicants should be adventurous, willing to try new things, passionate about the outdoors, and a good swimmer who enjoys snorkeling/diving.[/QUOTE]

I wonder if I could get a six month leave of absence to live in Queensland Australia and manage this Island....
I mean let's look at the qualifications.....

1. "adventurous"-I teach 8th grade-every day's an adventure
2. "willing to try new things"- I work on LBC's nuff said
3. "passionate about the outdoors"- my degree is Wildlife management and my 1st job was Wildlife officer...
4. "a good swimmer"-I swam competitively as a youth

5. "who enjoys snorkeling/diving"- OK I admit never done this but see # 2.

I got 4 out of five....think there's a chance in H#@LL?

SURE. Go ahead. Tell 'em you can snorkel and dive.

Every job application has to have at least ONE outright lie/distortion/over-statement/untruth/evasion/etc. or else it won't be complete... :jester:

Just need to watch out for the sharks, on the news it showed a HUGE chunk taken out of a surfboard :yesnod:

It will be most interesting to learn who actually gets that job.

A professional PR type who likes nature and isolation?

Hmmm, things aren't always as they seem . . .

A long time ago I worked with a young lady that was a full time Fish & Wildlife officer. For years she'd come to work in her uniform, gun and all, change up, and work nights with us. One day she said she got a promotion of sorts. F&W was moving her to Alaska. Not long after she went we started getting letters and pictures. They'd set her up in a Cabin on a river, got her a Cessna on amphib floats, and they paid for her to get her commercial & instrument tickets to fly the thing.

Life is interesting. We all thought she had the best job in the world. Pretty sure it still ranks right up there. No snorkeling involved.

Had me hooked right up to the snorkeling and diving part. I like being AT the ocean, or ON the ocean, but not really IN the ocean
