BEST Home Brew Penetrating Oil

Everyone please calm the heck down. NJS, welcome to BCF and please understand that in 13 years we have had more than our share of spammers, scammers, etc., so sometimes when people see some new person posting something not directly related to the topic of a forum, people tend to get a bit protective of the BCF. And to everyone: we don't do name calling here. Now, everyone take a deep breath and carry on.

Basil (I own the place)

That phrase tends to be more effective with an illustration:

NJS I must have missed the link to your spamming agent wanting my credit card info. Thanks for the tip on the mixture but I do use PB blaster, but have thought about trying your mixture one of these days. I have heard of it before but always have PB on hand so never took the time to mix up a batch of this other elixir. Some day though...

I too have used acetone and ATF, but also acetone and Marvel Mystery Oil seems to work pretty well too. Diesel fuel slightly diluted with lacquer thinners too.
You need a creeping lubricant and a volatile carrier.
Brake fluid too, not the silicone stuff, but be careful where you spill it or it'll take your paint off.

One thing I learned when using the ATF/acetone mix: the acetone is highly volatile, so while it "carries" the acetone down into the threads, it also evaporates quickly. So you need to mix up a fresh batch (or just add more acetone to the remaining ATF) whenever you use it.
