'best' fan blade configuration?

I believe that the original 948 cc engine had a single blade steel fan. I can retain this for the 1275; double up so to have a 4 blade steel fan; or install a plastic 'turbine' style fan (all of these came from Spridgets). I'm inclined to go with the plastic, but would appreciate thoughts regards balance, efficiency, etc. Thanks, as always. Doug
 
I typically use the plastic one that came on the 1275, if it's in good shape. If you want the more original look, use the steel. I've never seen the Bugeye that was single blade only though.

This was my original 948cc in my completely original 1960 Bugeye, circa 1969; first engine rebuild I ever did. You can just make out the metal fan blades.

Yes to the plastic. Looks good and moves more air.
