Pugger in to a battery! All kidding aside, serious problems can run all the way to the wiper arm...soo 1) be gentle with the tubing if you removed it because any stress or crimping will cause the cable i.e. the motor either to fail or cut out from the heat build up.. OH! if the tubing is crimped you will need to hunt for another one NO fix... 2) Another potential problem are the gears at the swivel part of the wiper connect.... they can wear to a point of binding also.. Best way to see that all is well is to take a donated cable and insert it up the tube and check for the for mentioned.....and of course greaser up before the final assembly... The motor windings and gears do fail but.... That's the rest of the story as the saying goes
