Being my own DPO, stripped front sealing block

Yea, I did it. Since I managed to dimple outwards from the tread side, I am thinking of boring it through. Then tapping and using a stud & locktight instead of a bolt. What kind of sealant do I use on the cork bits on the ends

In today's lingo; right track, wrong track.

My suggestion (and what I did) is to put in a Heli-coil instead. Totally stock appearance, and stronger than new. Best of all, you don't have to remember what you did next time.

I used Hylomar last time, but I've also used Permatex #3 in the past. Unfortunately, the gasket between the block and the front plate is probably going to tear as well, so clean that out and 'butter' the front of the block before you put it back in place.

Thanks Randall, I'll check on a coil.

I agree with Randall. I had to helicoil several spots on my tranny and it worked real well.

I perfer Keenserts, when I did my trailing arms I pulled a helicoil out and installed keenserts, appear to be a lot better repair In my opinion

Hondo

If only they built one for a TR4. I would order it in a minute.
