Except for the heater, carb and brake switch, the engine components are for the most part, all back together and ready to go.
This exercise was mostly to see how the new colour would look, I wanted darker than Mineral Blue and lighter than Blue Royale, so I concocted this little mixture which will go on the exterior sometime this week or next. I call it, Royale with Cheese.
I'm well aware of the ugly growth coming from the intake manifold, money is tight, until I can afford a DCOE, this is what I have.

that does look nice! Did you pull everything except the engine to do that?

The engine bay cleaned up nicely. That color should look good on the rest of the car.

Quite the difference, good color - there are some interesting things going on it there!
 
Rob, everything but the engine and oil cooler came out, used an air brush mostly.
Jeff, the HS4s were wrecked, the only functioning part of them were the float bowls, and I cleaned them up and stuck them on my HS2s and solved my problems with those. The DGV was free, so for a method of getting air and gas in, they'll do for now, but I'm not totally happy with them.
I know it doesn't 'conform' or anything like that, but I'm building it with the intention of the Missouri Endurance Rally, there's this gauntlet that has been thrown down you see......

If you take the copper tube that's presently running across your valve cover off the heater box, it'll fit over the studs holding the valve cover in place on the carb side of the valve cover - you'll just need a longer hose back at the heater......&, unless its been cut off, it should have a curved end that fits directly into your lower radiator hose....that gets it out of the way of your cap & secures it so it doesn't flop around.
 
Thanks, I haven't secured that because I haven't done my valve adjustments yet. I finally wrestled the battery out this morning, so I'll be going to get a new one, and hopefully start this monster very soon. Turning it by hand in a 98* garage is no fun.
I do have the hoses to the heater, problem is the heater control valve cable needs rethreading through the firewall, so for time being, the heater is essentially by-passed with the control valve open.

Haha, Royale with Cheese. I wouldn't have thought to apply that name to a colour, especially not one that looks as nice as that blue.

Sort of, because it's cheesy as I'm doing it myself because I'm too cheap to get it done by someone who knows what they're doing, and I just got done watching Pulp Fiction and when I pulled the carpets, there must've been 25 or so McDonald's fries under the seat, in various states of decomposition.
