My wife's 2002 Beetle is having signal light problems. The signals don't work at all and when she turns the signals on they click a few times and stop - any experience - any thoughts?
Hazard light switch. Everything for the indicators is routed through that on a modern VW, and it has been known to act up. Try the wiring, make sure that nothing came loose. Last resort, replace it but I would bet that this is the source of your problem.
It wasn't hard at all. You just have to get over the fact that you have to pry around the body of the switch to get it out of the dash. The new one just snaps into position. The worst part of the job was paying for the relay. I think it was 35 or 40 bucks.
