"Beer Goggles" effect explained

I must be an anomaly... the more I have, the less attractive EVERYBODY looks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

The research was commissioned by eyecare firm Bausch & Lomb PureVision, so it's not as if they decided to do this on a whim, and a private company was paying for the study to be done.......... I know what you mean, though.

Been there a time or two way back in my single young GI days! Waffle Houses were usually the place where the "oh my gosh" shock happened!

Does this go along with the saying, "Go ugly early"

Let's face it, that's why beer was invented...to give the ugly girls a chance! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I guess the flip side of that would be... that's why money was invented, to give ugly guys a chance. Or maybe that why Rock n Roll was invented... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmmmm.....Reminds me of a billboard I saw in Germany once. You know how breweries or distilleries will occasionally create an ad encouraging moderation? The billboard shows a blurred, double-image picture of a not-terribly-attractive young woman--thick glasses, stringy hair, generally homely. The message says, "Careful! One more and you might want to marry her!"

Now, when do you think you'll see that one in the US?!
