I had issues trying to install glass into rubber, I finally gave up and welded studs to light housing so I could bolt unit as a unit from inside trunk.

Is there an easy way to install glass once light is screw tight to body.I tried but could not manage rubber.
With out light housing attached to car I managed to install glass and ring OK. This is why I installed light units with glass installed

This are the lower rear lights on a bugeye.

Maybe some prior body work is interfering with the lens? Maybe try to install a thin aluminum shim/spacer behind it?
I've not had any problem with mine.

Thank you Jessie, that makes good sense. Sorry it took so long to acknowledge but since the forum change I can not use my phone to post so I have to wait to get home from the road
