bearing spacer needed... Help!

Hey guys, I'm looking for a bearing spacer for the left hand hub on a '62 850 Mini. This is a single leading drum brake car. Any help would be appreciated. New doesn't seem get able. Any body have one from a parts stash?

Are you asking about the collar that goes between the inner and outer bearings on the hub? If so... are you aware that they are ground to a precise length to work with a specific set of bearings? That's the reason you aren't finding a separate part... they're sold matched to a paired bearing assembly/kit.

I'm afraid your best and safest choice is to buy a new front bearing for your car. When you order the bearing you'll get "two bearings and the spacer" or "two bearings with extended inner races" depending on the supplier and bearing type.

If you're trying to salvage a set of bearings and don't want to buy a new kit, the only option you have is to take a complete bearing set, CAREFULLY measure the width of the assembled pair (with spacer) then calculate the exact length you need to replace the spacer your bearings are missing.

I wish I could help but I don't even have any used bearings I can even measure for you.

Sorry Doug, I guess I wasn't specific enough with the part. Its the spacer between the inner seal and the bearing. This one on the Mini-Mania site.

This car didn't have the whole left front hub assembly when it was pulled out of field. Have already sourced most of the needed parts but am having trouble finding this spacer. Mini-Mania lists it, but it is on "in-definite backorder". They said the last time they looked for it they ended up canceling the order because they couldn't source one either.

Whole new bearing set going into the new hub so not trying to pinch nay pennies in half here.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Ah... very different than what I was thinking about. I'm sorry... I still don't have the part you need but I'll ask around.

Hi Doug,
Just fitted new bearings to all 4 corners on our Mini. The brg kits for the front were the later extended type (no spacer between brgs) The seal spacers were included in the kit. If you find you still need one, pm me with your address and I will send you a used one.
Cheers Ric

Its not the spacer between the bearings that I need. Its the spacer between the inner bearing and the seal.

Hi Shawn,
As I said, the new bearings in the kit were the extended ones (no spacer fitted between brgs)

The Kit did INCLUDE the SEAL Spacer
