I pulled the bearing to access the seal. Now I cannot get the bearing back in. It is 90% in but I cannot get it to seat against the seal. I've tied to use a vice but it just wont of the last 3 mm. Any suggestion? It came out with little trouble and I am reusing the same bearing. I'm thinking the torch.

I assume you cleaned the mating surfaces really well so you don't have a piece of grit holding you up. I also assume you are using the bearing spacer so you're pushing on the outer race. Have you tried rotating the bearing/hub in the vice in case it's somewhat cocked?

yep. I'm thinking dry ice as someone suggested elsewhere. Heating may distort the new seal. Hope I can find some at the local supermarket. I will try a friend of mine at a local auto re-builder tomorrow.
