From the looks of it, it looks like you had a dragging brake which overheated the disk and cooked the grease in the hub and caused the wheel bearing to fail.
Clues are the blueing of the brake disk and the stub axle.

I agree also the real question is did the seal go bad first was the grease old and sat not running for a time. I 1/2 fill the body of the hub so if heat gets to grease it should melt more into bearing. There is another Thread about loading on wheel bearings . Madflyer

Well here's the story: I had taken the the front pass side wheel off for some reason and I remember repacking the wheel bearing.I had the nut installed on the spindle and was about to adjust it when I was called away on a family emergency. I scribbled a note to myself to check the wheel play when I got back and left the note on the work bench. I didn't get back to the car for a few days and the note must have blown away! Anyway a few days later I was out on the highway going 65mph when the left front wheel tilted inward about 30 degrees and jammed the brake caliper against the rotor and locked up the wheel. I managed to skid the car to the side of the road and took a look under the car. There was a grease fire at the inner side of both wheels. I threw gravel on flames to put them out. Quite the adrenaline rush! Luckily I had spares for all the damaged parts. Like Madflyer said I may have forgotten to load up the body of the hub and that might have caused the failure. I was wondering if having the bearing too tight or too loose would have exacerbated the problem? The spindle nut was still in place? Any thoughts?
