BE Fuel Gauge Questions

I may report that Kim did the unit in Miss Agatha. In fact he took a wiped out guage and made one that works like new.

Then out of the goodness of his heart he took a second one and repaired it so I have a spare.

This was of course just after his surgey so he needed a sit down job to occupy his mind.

I several times told Kim to charge a bit, like have folks wrap a $20 bill around the guage when sending. Would buy a beer or two. heh?

Put my name on the list. If you'll accept it, I'll send you my combo sometime this Fall.

Mike I will PM you my address and you can send it when you are ready. Just be sure and let me know the year of the car and if the gauge and sender are stock as far as you know. I know most of the fuel gauge wires were green with a black stripe from the sender to the gauge. I might not be able to find that exact color wire to use but I will find one that has a color that is far away from any in the stock harness.

Add me to your list a well. I've got a new sender (and my original one) and an original gauge. I'd love to have it working nicely. PM me with your details when you get a moment, and thanks!

I would like to bring this one back. Regardless of how much fuel is in my tank, the gauge always shows 1/4 tanks. Where would be a good place to start? Gauge or tank?

Guys, I abhore a gauge that reads fuel when there is none. I wish I had th time to ehlp everyone right now but I don't. if it reads above empty its above 0 ohms. I will do them that I promised first. I still go to get mine (my midget finishesd)back together and I am in need at work too, so I will get them as I can. I would love to help all. I will do what I can. Pm me guys that need help. just use the regularman@military.com email and I will respond as I get time. Cold weather will soo be here and i will be in my room where I do electical stuff at home and its too cold in the rest of the basement to do much and I will get set up and do more than one when I do it. I will set them up as I did mine. I will set them will some reserve. Like a gallon in the tank before the gauge starts to move so that when it read empty ther is a bit left. that way if it is above E then there is definitely some fuel. It depends on the gauge though. jacks gauge was very sensitive and even when I had it right I did not trust it below 1/4 tank as it was not repeatable if that makes any sense. Sometimes it was a bit different and I did not want my friend to wrun out of fuel. I told him 1/4 might be empty on that last gauge because of that.

And I can live with that. Not a problem the gauge works and that is all that matters.
