BE Dash Options

I've removed my dash from my BE, all the gauges are out and I'm getting ready to recover it with new vinyl.

Has anyone upgraded/modernized their dash with different fabric or gauges? Just wondering how it looks. The car is keeping its original positive ground.

Anyone have suggestions as to best tips and tricks for refinishing the dash?

Thanks....

Drew...I did read the good writeup you submitted...

Good adhesive is key, and a bit of patience with the fussy bits. Not a hard job at all. For a true factory look, source some non-padded vinyl. I used padded stuff and you get a bit of puffiness here and there. Not a big deal, but an issue.

If you're looking for something different, I saw 2 Bugeyes at our last club car event that had painted metal dashes instead. They looked nice, you'd never know they didn't come that way from the factory. I like the vinyl look myself, but the painted ones were pretty sharp.

I'd image you'd have trouble with modern gauges and positive ground, though the switch over is simple (I'm running positive ground and original gauges).

Doesn't take much fabric or time, so you could always experiment with different choices. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
