It's very possible that it's on my end, as I have a dial up connection, but it's taking me a lot longer to move around in the forum since the new server started. Anyone else have this problem? Especially when you have a mile of photos to download just to view comments on a subject. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif PJ
 
Noop, cable here and fast as you could wish. New server seems to have solved the problem for the time being anyway.
 
Much faster than a few days ago - still not as fast as some sites but back to where it was a month or so ago.

If you'r stuck with dialup, a couple things you might try that could speed things up a bit. Go to your "My Home" page and edit Display Preferences. There is an option there to turn off viewing people's signatures (and the pictures they have attached). ALso you can reduce the number of posts the show up on a page. These things wont cure the problem but may help a bit.

I am experiencing a slow down in getting into the forum. I'm on cable. Once in it seems to be ok.

It went completely down for a while today. I kept getting all kinds of strange server and database error text-only messages. But right now it's as fast as it has ever been.

Yeah, something went haywire and they had to re-boot, but I guess it took them awhile to get to my support ticket. When its running it runs great now, the trick is to keep it this way for awhile!

My experience is that it's been very unreliable since about last Thursday. 1/3 of the time I can't get on at all ("Invalid response from server"), 1/3 of the time I get knocked off (same msg) after a screen or two, and 1/3 it's ok.

I use Firefox but get the same errors w/ IE. Other sites are working normally.

Not a complaint, just a report from the field.

They told me that something was causing a error in Apache (that's the OS on my server) which was causing things to basically halt. They "think" they fixed whatever it was that was causing the errors, so hopefully things will be working better now (knock on wood).

With the exception of the recent spat of problems, they have been very good overall. They are very responsive to my needs and usually bend over backwards to help me.

I've had trouble getting into the forum off and on for weeks. I can get to the first page (britishcarforum.com) but after that it takes forever to get to the forum itself, and sometimes I can't get to the forum at all. It took about 20 minutes this morning to finally get in (and that was with the forum showing 3 people on-line).
