Haven't heard from it since. Probably stripped and the pieces for sale on E-Bay.

I hope it was over-insured....

Tony, old Southern, high maintainance wives count only until they run out of fingers and toes!
RE: BCF membership Mark, the SilentUnicorn nailed it pretty darned well!

Hey Alan,

Last time I laid eyes on the Beast,
was around 10:00 PM last Wednesday,
where it was blown up on the side
of the road, deader than dino droppings.

Haven't heard from it since.
Probably stripped and the pieces
for sale on E-Bay.

What a total nightmare this past year
of owning the 1969ish TR6 has been.

Dale

You should have said - there are a couple of pieces I need. I'd have packed wrenches /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Seriously though - is that it then, finito? Or are you going to mount an expedition to find her and drag her back?

Hey Alan,

I drove the Boulder Bouncer over to the TR6 death
scene this afternoon but no trace of the Crypt Car
other than a large oil stain in the roadway.

Since it's blown up and can move, it was probably
towed off and parted out the first night.

I hope you fare better in your attempt to get your
own Beast from Hades running and reliable.

Let's see here:
First $10K got me 67 miles driven.
Another $22K got me just over 30 miles more.

Then the Beast blew up itself to pieces
at less than 10 mph.

Go figure?

Ucck - I guess its an insurance job then.
Hope you had it well covered. My condolences.
Mine's waiting for some more parts - sound familiar?

I am very sorry to hear that Tinster....I always thought you've get it purring eventually. Shall we have a moment of scilence for old crypty?

Dale, have you tried calling the city or whoever is responsible for towing in PR? If someone is going to part out the beast at least you should be the recipient.

I find it rather depressing that the beast won. (and hoping that my beast won't win)

That says it all Tony. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Most of us have been there/done that. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Stuart.

The Crypt Car could still be OUT THERE
somewhere. We celebrate Three Kings Day
on January 6th as our primary Christmas day.

So folks down here are going around like crazy
people buying last minute gifts. Many folks
(such as me) pretty much take off three weeks
this time of year.

The Crypt Car is a hateful Beast and it hates me
personally worse'n an ex-wife who lost out in
divorce court. Like a bad penny that always comes
home, I'm betting the Beast is there laughing at
my expense.

All the nice folks at Western Auto and Pep Boys
know me and the Crypt Car. Wendy and I are
the only gringos where we live and most folks
know we own some old red sports car. Crypty will
turn up in a conversation if anyone has seen him.

After Three Kings Day, someone will report hearing
about Crypty and the Beast from Hades will end up
back in the Crypt to torment me for another year.

Triumphs and MGs have almost zero sales value here
on the island. Particularly one that't blown up and
does not run.
