God, I wish I had a life worth talking about. Go to work, come home and help take care of house, kids, pets, etc......, eat supper, take shower, sleep, wet, lather, rinse, repeat. :tired:   :cryin:

Sounds pretty exciting to me, but then I get excited when the new phone book arrives

You do, but you just don't know it. Now that I'm a granny I find my granddaughter's coming and goings very interesting. For example, when she was about 5 she had her mom get me on the phone and then begged me to tell her mother, my daughter, that she did not like green M&M's. I couldn't figure that one out because at the time there weren't green M&M's. I assured her I would tell her mother. When my daughter got on the line, she told me that the green M&M's were really peas and she was trying to get the granddaughter to eat them. Thought that was pretty interesting.

So you see what you just take for granted is really special when looked at through the eyes of the grandparents. Kid's are a blog in themselves. The same applies to pets and certainly our work is full of interesting happenings. Just look at your life as though you were a stranger and I can assure you that everyday there will be some event that should be put to paper.

As you can see I journal and will continue to do so. Have since high school. Sometimes it was just a line and sometimes almost a book - sort of like this response.

Lastly, beware of those of us who type as fast as the words coming out of our mouth! We have a tendency to ramble.... and ramble.... and ramble...etc.

I'm wodering - is there a reason for a person to have both a website & a blog?

I haven't read anything but the last post, so that's all I'm replying to!

A web site and a blog are essentially the same thing. A blog is just a web site / web page where someone puts a "public diary". I don't see a reason to have two web sites unless they are for different purposes. For example, I have one site for work and one for MGs, although both are linked to one another.

The main difference is that the Blog (at least the ones we have) are limited in what you can do. Everything is chronological and the newest post is always on top. With a web site there is more flexibility in how to create pages and link them together.

I guess I was speaking about having a blog on your own web site, versus a site without a blog. No difference really. But there is a difference, of course, between a personal web site and a blog hosted on a site such as BCF. A BCF blog is much more specific in its purpose.
