I am under my new 80B and I see that the battery is held up by two straps, I can actually see the battery corners from underneath the car, is this the way it is suppose to be? I am thinking about
rigging something up to offer the battery more protection, I couldn't find anything in the old Moss catalog that came with the car, am I missing a lower cover or something? Thanks in advance.
 
Moss has plastic "buckets" that fit in the holes there and give great protection and well as provide for tool or oil storage in the one behind the driver side. Get battery with handle or put piece of ski rope or something similar around battery so you can pull it if you need to as they get wedged in there pretty tight.
 
Bluecoat, first thing you need to do is get yourself a new copy of the Moss catalog and a Victoria British catalogue as well: Moss Motors and Victoria British (Click on those links to get to their sites and order free catalogues.) Until you get yourself a workshop manual (Haynes or Bentley), these will do as great references for all the parts in your B.

And I second the recommendation of the battery "bins." They are really great, and do just want you ask: Protect the battery and keep road crap off it.

We've got a set of those too. Since we've never had the battery cover off ourselves, I'm rather curious to see what's inside the "empty" bin. Oh wait, our local Foreign Sports Car Wizards have been in there plenty of times, so most likely, nothing!
