i know this has most likely been asked before but what brand battery fits into the battery tray on the 72 spitfire best; my red top optima got taken by my kid when his died and they are like 180 to buy new ; and i would like go a little cheaper this time.

I think I would get my Optima back and find out what battery fits in his car...

If there is an Interstate Battery dealer near you, they are pretty good about being able to match batteries. They probably have a cross reference to the Optima or bring your measurements in to them and they can find one that will fit.

hey doug thats what i was going to do but the battery is already over 5 years old so i surffed the net and found a new red top like the one i had for 166.00 with free shipping ;have a good day rick.
