Battery Size for BJ8

Hello everyone:
I found lots of info about batteries in the archives but I still have an unanswered question. I have an original size wooden spacer block bolted to the fender wall that seems to put the battery too far out into the trunk area. The battery tray/battery is actually a couple of inches overhanging onto the gas tank. What group size battery is concours correct for a BJ8, better yet, what dimensions?

JeffR; Group 24 650 CCA Minimum. While not concourse correct, Cut the wooden spacer in half and reinstall.---Fwiw---Keoke

Thanks Keoke:
Your method would work but I need to approximate the original. I found additional info. that stated the spacer block was made thicker on the BJ8. When used with the standard thickness battery of 6.75" the battery and support tray did extend out more into the trunk area and onto the top of the fuel tank. Looks a little funny but I guess it's the "right" way.

Jeff
