Battery Recommendation

It's time to replace the battery on my 64 BJ8 and I am looking for recommendations on the appropriate amperage for the car. There are lots of batteries out there with a variety of amp ratings. Do amps matter? If so, what is the range I should look for?

Thanks.

Hi J Eade, there are two amperage requirements to look for; 1} CCA=Cold Cranking AMPS,values of 550 to 750 are acceptable.2] defines total capacity which should be on the order of 65 AH or a group # 24 Battery. Additionally,"I" do not put anything in my cars but a completely sealed unit. Do not be missled by the term" Maintenance Free" most of them are not. Delco sealed Units are acceptable and probably can be found in your area.-FWIW---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
