Bathroom fixtures - up-date

So, I decided I better get off my butt and start renovating the bathroom, in part because all the debris is in the garage, precisely where I hope a Midget will be parked in just a few short weeks. So, in Toronto (and many other communities) they have a Yahoo group called the freecycle. Here you post thing that you want rid of - has to be free (and people even post "wanted" stuff) (BTW oddest thing I ever saw was one chopstick - seriously) Anyway, I figured nothing would get me motivated quite like giving the stuff away. So, I posted it. Vanity was claimed in 19 minutes! Pretty much everything is gone - except the tub. Even the (grey!) toilet went. (The lady has a grey bathroom, no money to renovate and a deeply stained toilet - go figure) Anyways, it's time to start demolition and I saved a bunch of stuff hitting landfill - amazing!

Re: Bathroom fixtures - up-date

Between selling used stuff on Craigslist (I had someone buy a USED black toilet!!!), and giving it way to Habitat-For-Humanity (for various projects), it's nice to see all that sort of stuff recycled.

I'm also on Freecycle and like it. I've gotten some good stuff, and given away some good stuff. Sometimes no one will want something, but usually there is someone with a use for it. Oddly enough, even the "Wanteds" (which are only allowed on Wed) seem to work out pretty good, especially for kid stuff. Seems like lots of folks kept a stroller or whatever, because it was too good to "throw away" but are willing to see it go to a good home.

Same thing used to happen when I was a kid, it's just that Yahoo has replaced the backyard fence and Tupperware party.
